§ Government Contracting Lexicon
IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity).
An IDIQ is a contract vehicle for an indefinite quantity of work over a fixed period, under which the government issues individual task or delivery orders as needs arise.
§ 01 · Definition
What it means.
In practice, for a bidder.
Winning a seat on an IDIQ is winning the right to compete for orders, not guaranteed revenue. Multiple-award IDIQs create a pool of vendors who then bid on task orders.
